UplyFox for Chrome
The browser half of UplyFox: inspect, fill, verify, then ask.
A Manifest V3 extension that reads application forms across frames and Shadow DOM, fills them from your verified profile, and treats submission as a separate capability that needs a fresh, one-time approval.
What it does
- Side panel, popup and focused-field overlay
- Page and full-form scans across every reachable frame and open Shadow DOM
- Inputs, selects, dates, checkboxes, radios, contenteditable and ARIA comboboxes
- Résumé attachment through the file input
- Job-page detection with match score and a one-click save to the tracker
- Bounded multi-step navigation on Workday, Greenhouse, Ashby, SmartRecruiters and iCIMS
- Unknown-question capture with copy fallback
How it works
- 01
Inspect
Content scripts in all frames build a form graph; a MutationObserver follows single-page apps.
- 02
Fill
Native setters and framework-compatible events write each value, then read it back to verify.
- 03
Stop
CAPTCHAs, unsupported controls, unknown required fields, validation errors and review pages all halt automation.
- 04
Snapshot
The filled form is redacted and hashed with SHA-256.
- 05
Approve once
Approval binds to that hash and one submit target. Before clicking, the page is re-inspected and re-hashed and the grant is consumed.
- 06
Confirm
Click, form, network, URL and DOM signals are combined into confirmed, failed or unknown.
Architecture
Module background worker with alarms, a user-scoped chrome.storage cache and a 15-minute profile refresh.
Run in all frames including about:blank, with a page-context network observer at document_start.
React side panel and popup for assistant, my data and tracker views.
storage, activeTab, sidePanel, alarms and webNavigation.
Engineering decisions
Bounded navigation
At most 12 steps, five minutes and one click per step, and only on allow-listed Next controls.
Any change blocks submit
A different field, target, hash or a used grant means no click.
Testing & evaluation
- 149 named unit tests for form handling, adapters, approval and confirmation logic

Honest limits
